  • $95.00 for regular registration after February 8th, 2025.
  • Registration will not be open the morning of the ride, April 12.

 Where is the start?
  • On Saturday, 7900 Doar Rd, Awendaw, SC.
Awendaw Municipal Park is the start for this year’s ride.  The friendly and growing little town of Awendaw is just up the coast a ways from Mount Pleasant and Charleston.

What type of bike should I bring?
  • Ride the Lowcountry on Saturday and the downtown ride on Sunday both take place on state and county hard-top roads, so a road bike is best.
  • The Sunday club gravel ride is mostly on dirt/gravel roads in a national forest.  On that ride you’ll want a bike with larger tires suitable for flat off-road riding.
Are EBikes allowed?
  • Yes.  What is critical to us is not the type of bike, but the behavior of the rider.  Because e-bikes can respond differently than regular bikes, if you're riding in a pace line it's important to be able to maintain a steady speed and not use the "e-ability" to accelerate quickly and be disruptive in the paceline.
  • With or without an e-bike, if you plan to ride in a pace line, we recommend that you review our pace line rules to be familiar with expectations.  In most places the rules are the same, but there may be some differences.  You can click on this link to view them:  Coastal Cyclists - Pacelines 101
Will you be serving beer with lunch?
  • No, we will not serve beer but you are welcome to bring your own beverage and enjoy it with the excellent lunch we provide.  As always, we expect you to remain responsible and not over-indulge in alcohol.
Where should I stay?
  • There is no official hotel for the ride, but Charleston is famous for all the places to stay.  If you want to be closest to the Saturday start, you can find hotels in the Seaside Farms area of Mount Pleasant.   Check out the Hotels page for a complete list of Mount Pleasant lodging options.
 What to bring/wear
  • Helmets, comfortable cycling shorts and jersey, sunglasses, and water bottles. Fill your water bottles before you arrive, but there will be rest stops where you can refill and refuel during the ride.
  • A safe, functional bike.  We will have mechanical assistance available for emergencies, but you really should check your bike out ahead of time to be certain it's functioning properly before you arrive.  Our bike shop volunteers don't have time to rehab your clunker!
  • Bug spray and sunscreen.
  • Spare tube, tire levers and pump or CO2.  A SAG vehicle will be available to help, but it might take a while to get to you and it may not have the necessary supplies.
  • Don’t forget to attach your bib to your jersey.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
  • We welcome all ages, but if you're a minor, you must have a parent or guardian signature. It's best for a parent or guardian to accompany young people on the ride.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
  • There is no transportation option other than private vehicle. There is plenty of parking, though, and there will be a designated drop-off point for those who are catching a ride with someone on Saturday who will not be riding.
What's the refund policy?
  • No refunds are offered. Please keep in mind that Coastal Cyclists is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that uses the money to promote biking in Charleston and South Carolina.  If you cannot make it to the ride, please consider your registration fee a donation to help cycling advocacy in the Lowcountry.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
  • While you do not have to bring your printed ticket, it often helps because we can just scan the bar code on the ticket to confirm your reservation.
Can I update my registration information? Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
  • No. Because we require a release of liability form to be signed by the rider (or the parent/guardian of a minor), we require that the person on the registration be the person who rides. If it looks like you're not going to be able to ride and someone else will ride in your place, please use the RideTheLowcountry.com Transfer page to properly give your registration to someone else.
What's for lunch?
  • Buffet lunch will start at 11:30am on Saturday and will continue until 3:30pm.  If there are riders still out at that time, we will maintain some covered dishes to make sure everyone gets some delicious items, including:
  • Last year's menu of grilled chicken, boiled lowcountry shrimp, mac & cheese, red rice (some with no meat), coleslaw, (without mayonnaise), tomato and feta (no meat),and banana pudding was a huge hit; expect a similar menu again this year allowing for seasonal variations since our caterer sources the freshest local ingredients.  Plus, iced tea and water.
Can I buy additional guest meals?
